I've finished this month's photo interpretation for the Digital to Textile group, and to read about the process, you can go to the blog site http://digitaltotextile.blogspot.com/
I also made another change to the large painted piece I tortured recently. I decided it looked better in thirds, so I took the rotary cutter to it.
I'm not going to mount this on canvas the way I like to do because I would use too much fabric wrapping it around the edges. I could mount it by stitching it to the canvas front and painting the edges of the canvas, which is a technique Diana uses http://dianaparkes.blogspot.com/ and I might still do that, because I think this piece looks more like a painting then fiber.

Gone too long
I know I have been back over 2 weeks and haven't blogged, but I've been really busy. Our new floors didn't start going in until the day after we came home, all the stuff we had packed up beforehand remained packed. Of course that meant no kitchen, no studio, and lots of people in my house with hammers and drills. It's almost done now, just the stairs and the baseboards need finishing, and I'm back to cooking, which I haven't been able to do for 6 months. It was worth it.
While in Korea and Kyoto, I didn't have much opportunity to shop. If it had just been Ted and I, we probably would have done more, but with the two boys, we were focused on other things. I did manage to get to a great paper shop in Kyoto, and bought the paper you see above. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I needed it.
This is my finished piece for my group Digital to Textile. To read more about it, go to http://digitaltotextile.blogspot.com/. This week is also the reveal of the newest Twelve by Twelve, so tune in on Thursday.
