Back To Work

I've been out of commission for a while, I was sick for a week, then lots of out of town family have been visiting, so I let the artwork and blog go.  I missed my creative outlets and have been happy to get back to work.

These two pieces are part of the "A View Within" series I'm working on.  I have lots of fetal ultrasound pictures from my daughters pregnancies, so I am interpreting them at different stages.

Paula, my partner in this adventure, has some pictures on her website of my granddaughter Riley's ultrasound. They are the three aqua colored piece near the bottom, here  http://paulachung.com/portfolio.html.  Paula and I are starting to think about where we want this collaboration to go, and are writing proposals to various venues.  I don't know about you, but I hate all the paperwork stuff.

Here are my final pictures of New Caledonia from our eclipse cruise.  We were greeted on all the island by local dancers showing us the traditions of their island.

Of course, I took lots of pattern pictures. I was surprised I didn't see any fabric with the patterns anywhere.  Everything was painted on bark, in huge pieces, so I didn't bring any home.

At a vanilla plantation we saw lots of this plant. I am notorious for wandering off taking pictures while the guides are talking, so I don't know if this is part of the plant or a parasite.

All the churches were beautiful. In New Caledonia, most of the people are Catholic, and in Fiji, most of them are Methodist.

I never got tired of staring into the water, isn't it amazing?

Then there's the sunsets.

More family is arriving next week, so I'm not sure how much art I will be making, but I hope I can keep up the pace I'm at.
