Adjustments

Karen, at http://karoda.typepad.com/, asked me if I thought I would lose some of the red motif when I wrapped it around the canvas. Yes, actually, this was a big concern for me, but I really wanted to wrap around, so I had to come up with something that would work.  Since I've never done this before, I am probably making it much more complicated than it needs to be, but the only way I could think of to judge the wrap around was to wrap around. I noticed right off the bat that the black and white strip on the top was too high, so I ripped out the stitching I had done on this (on the left two pieces) and then wrapped them around canvas, pinning them on the sides to give me an idea of whether this would work.  The piece on the right is in its original shape, and hangs down several inches.  Karen suggested some painting on the fabric if the red didn't show up and I may end up doing that.  So far, I think the two pieces on the left work well, although I think the black and white is to high up.  I have been trying to avoid making it the same angle as the tan/brown piece on the bottom, but that might be too asymmetrical.  I need to rip out the stitching on the black/white on the right side piece and pin it up on the wall the see if there is enough red on the front.  This is my favorite part of the process, I like having to figure these issues out.
