This is the 6th piece I've made for the gallery show I'm in opening on November 21st in Sherman Oaks, Ca. This piece was inspired by a visit to Machu Picchu earlier this year. Our guide explained that because of all the visitors touching the rocks, they were starting to decay, something they hadn't done in all the time they lay undiscovered in the jungle.
This piece was made with deconstructed screenprinting on cotten sateen, some painted cheesecloth, and some handstitching. This was definitely a less is better piece, the fabric sort of speaks for itself. I'm working on one more piece for the show, but I'm not bieng very disciplined aobut it so we'll see if I can get it done.

Wonderful texture. So sad that our desire to know and experience something ultimately leads to its destruction.
