LA Fiber Artists Show

LAFA, a group I belong to, opened it's show on Nov. 21st in Sherman Oaks CA. These are some of my pieces, with credit going to Jeanne Beck for the technique. Lots of people attended the opening, and there has been a steady flow of people thru the gallery since then. It's so fun to be a fly on the wall and hear people commenting on your work before they know you're the artist!
The picture below is my family and third from the left is David Moen, who was the art teacher at my children's elememtary school. He also taught my kids and my husband privately on the weekends, and I think it's accurate to say he influenced all of us. My oldest daughter Julie is a graphic designer, and my husband is back in school working towards his BA in studio art, with an emphasis on glass. My kids we're very lucky to have been exposed to the arts at an early age, I wish it was still an option in public schools.

Hi Karen,

I knew David Moen more than 30 years ago in the L.A. area. Back then he gave me several of his drawings which I would like to thank him for, having given me much pleasure over the years. I have lived in Boulder the past 20 years or so. I am pretty sure the fellow in your picture is the same guy. He used to live in the Pasadena area as I recall. Can you pass on to me some contact info for him if you have it.
Thanks,

Hello Karen,

Mr. Moen was my art teacher when I was a kid. I had him for art class in my elementary at Vena Ave Elemenetary School, and he was also my private art teacher. He inspired me to join the animation industry. Can I too have his contact information?
