Baby shower

My daughter Valerie is about 7 months pregnant and this weekend is her shower.  I have been emerging myself in baby stuff and realize it's a whole new world out there.  I went to help her register for a few things and did you know they have baby monitors now that have videos in them, and we saw one that monitored whether or not the baby had moved recently.  And the car seat choices were overwhelming.

I came home and bought some outfits from Dharma and got out my soy wax and started playing around. The thing I had to remember is how many times you have to wash this stuff to get the dye out with a baby wearing it.  I don't pay that much attention with my fiber art, but I don't want bleeding on all the other baby clothes

Of course I had to make her a baby quilt, which reminded me how far removed I am from exact seams and pointed edges.  This pattern was from a Freddy Moran book.  I was able to use up a lot of my store bought fabric. They had one for Farmer John too, so I'm ready if a baby boy comes along in the future.

What a cute quilt. I need to make one by Thanksgiving. I am going abstract, though. The mom is an architect and the dad is a theater guy.

What fun!
I'm planning a new quilt for little GD too. And also a handbag, as she likes mine so much. ;-)

My grandson will get a quilt for his first birthday, so I have time to figure it out! How did our babies manage to thrive without all the fancy stuff they have now? I laughed at the "wipe warmer" my daughter got as a gift, but we have both decided we like it! You are right. It is a whole new world. Looks like you are having a lot of fun!

Love that quilt! You are putting me to shame with all that you are doing for your grandbaby! I need to get on the stick! I think perhaps Terry has the right idea about waiting till the baby's first b'day, since I don't know the sex....that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Saw your beautiful art quilt photo in the latest QA: great job! Way to go kiddo!!!

Have a great shower!
