Opening night
Last night was the opening of a show I am in with Deborah Weir and Melissa Frankel, called Three Perspectives. The venue is the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center and the rain let up long enough that we had a pretty good turnout. I always find it interesting to see my work on the wall in a setting like this. For some reason, I look at it differently, maybe it's the lighting, or having it share company with other work. This red piece, behind Melissa, is something I was unsure about until I saw it on the wall. It's called Silent Cry and was finished in early 2009. I stuck it away in the closet and didn't look at it again until I hung this show. It received more comments than any of my other pieces and that made me feel great.

Oh, I wish I could see this in person. I love that red piece, very much.
Congrats! I also wish I could see it.
It looks wonderful. I would love to see more of your work!
Great show Karen!!
That is a terrific piece.
Warm hugs to you and my buddy Deborah!

All the best for your show. It is always interesting seeing ones work in an exhibition, rather like having a child stepping out into the world.
It is a very impressive show and your work is so moving. Congratulations.
Wish I could have been there. Someday, you and I should have a show together. Your Silent Cry reminds me of a piece I also finished in 2009. But I like yours better.
Congratulations, Karen! Your "Silent Cry" looks fabulous -- glad you hung it for all to see. I so wish I could have been there to celebrate with you!
Congratulations on your show. It looks like you had a wonderful turnout which is always fun.
