I used Saral to trace the image onto white cotton sateen, then stitched on all the lines. Then I got my fabric paints out and my roller and just rolled over the top. This is a method used by Laura and Linda Kemshall in their book "The Painted Quilt", and similair to a method used by one of my favorite fiber artists www.deidreadams.com . It's a little wierd for me to paint after the stitching but I think it's very effective

Next door to the museum are the La Brea Tar Pits and they were bubbling away with their oily brew
This is the fence surrounding the tar pits and I liked the design combined with the water moving in the background
